For years people have settled for aluminum, vinyl and wood siding, plaster, sheetrock and stucco because brick installations were more time consuming, more labor intensive and up to double the cost. That is about to change!
THIN BRICK DEVELOPMENT
Contrary to popular belief, both exterior and interior brick walls of most modern brick homes and buildings are not load bearing structures but rather a durable and highly attractive veneer. Typically, only the face of a brick is visible with nearly three inches of the brick staying hidden and used only to support the next row of brick. Recognizing this, brick manufacturers over the past 50+ years have researched, developed and refined the increasingly popular thin brick.
Thin brick have the same face size as a standard modular brick, however they are less than 1 inch thick instead of 3 5/8 inches. The streamlined size of thin bricks make them easier to handle and quicker to install.
Unfortunately, many thin brick veneering systems are awkward to use and understand. Some systems use panels made of sheet metal that not only have sharp edges but are also susceptible to corrosion and a form of warping known as oil-canning. The thin brick are then affixed to these panels using an adhesive that often leaves you wondering about the bond between the sheet metal and the brick.
Despite all of these challenges, more and more architects, contractors, interior designers and homeowners are choosing thin brick for their masonry projects. Fortunately, the ClickBrick™ Thin Brick Veneering System has been developed to address these challenges and take the guesswork out of thin brick installation!
THE CLICKBRICK™ INNOVATION
ClickBrick™ are premium quality kiln-fired thin brick that have been engineered to interlock with the ClickBrick™ Grid. This allows for easy, quick and accurate placement of each thin brick.
The ClickBrick™ Grid is made of a specially formulated polypropylene making our grids highly durable, moisture resistant, chemical resistant and heat resistant.
ClickBrick™ Grids are designed with a series of mating tabs and slots to allow easy and accurate alignment of each grid. Each grid has preformed screw holes to insure proper placement of the screws. Our grids can be quickly secured with corrosion resistant screws using a power drill or screwdriver.
The ClickBrick™ Veneering System is unique in that it allows you to place and change any or all of the thin brick up until the application of grout! Check out the following photo gallery of an internal wall rennovation.
